Skill Development programme - 27 January 2021 - Dept. of English

The Desalite Skill Development Cell, in association with Chaucer’s Academy organised Skill Development Programmes on a varied set of topics - ‘Enriching Life through Storytelling’, ‘Improving Memory Using ICT’, ‘Enhancing Communication Skills’ and ‘Inculcating the Power of Positive Attitude’ on 27 January 2021. The objective of the programme was to instil creativity and critical thinking in students that would help them to become assertive and resilient. The resource persons for the event were Dr. Madhuramozhi.V, Prof. Francis Lopez, Dr. Sheeba, HoD and Prof. Evangeline Richard, Department of English, SFS College. The resource persons started the sessions and grabbed the attention of the audience. Each of the topics were dealt through ICT tools. The topics were very useful for the students.

In the age of globalisation and Information Technology, it is imperative that the students should have knowledge on such topics to build a better person in them. Each of the speakers raised the importance of their topics and drew the attention of the students towards the same. The students thoroughly enjoyed the session as they got a chance to listen to a few interesting stories as well framed points relating to the topics which enlightened them with ideas and concepts of many kinds. The session was followed by a question and answer session in which the students got an opportunity to clarify all their doubts and ask questions to the resource person.

The concepts that were discussed during the session were evaluated through the assessment form. The students gave positive feedback about the skill development programme.
